Planning an HSIA rollout without surprises

What to align on before you cut over: RADIUS paths, captive discovery, PMS touchpoints, and who owns day-two operations.

Most HSIA delays are not “Wi‑Fi problems”—they are coordination gaps. Before you schedule a cutover, line up these decisions with networking, property operations, and your integration partner.

Access and policy

Confirm how guests authenticate today and how you want plans, quotas, and VIP flows to behave tomorrow. Document voucher formats, social login policy, and any MAC-only device classes (TVs, IoT) so nothing is improvised on launch week.

Captive discovery and walled garden

Validate DHCP, DNS, and CapPort-style discovery on your access gear. List every hostname that must work before login (PMS, payment, identity) so your walled garden matches real guest journeys.

Ownership after go-live

Agree who watches session health, who resets stuck guests, and how escalations reach the right team. A clear runbook beats heroics when the property is full.
